Bluestone Patio & Walkway Restoration

We restore the deep, rich color of your natural bluestone, removing efflorescence and stains while providing a protective seal against the elements.

Has Your Elegant Bluestone Lost Its Signature Color?

Bluestone is a premier choice for patios and walkways due to its unique color and texture. However, this beautiful stone is porous and susceptible to several issues:

Our Comprehensive Bluestone Restoration Method

Gentle, Effective Cleaning
Step 1

We begin by carefully cleaning the surface with pH-neutral cleaners designed for natural stone to remove all surface dirt, algae, and grime.

Efflorescence & Stain Treatment
Step 2

We apply a specialized acidic cleaner (used safely by our trained technicians) to effectively dissolve and remove stubborn efflorescence and mineral deposits. Rust stains are treated individually.

Neutralization & Drying
Step 3

After treatment, we thoroughly neutralize and rinse the stone. We then allow the stone to dry completely, sometimes using air movers to speed up the process, as trapping moisture is detrimental.

Color-Enhancing Sealer Application
Step 4

We apply a premium color-enhancing sealer that penetrates deep into the stone. This not only provides robust protection against water and stains but also dramatically deepens and enriches the stone's natural colors and variations.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bluestone Care

Will the sealer make my bluestone look fake or overly glossy?

No. We use high-quality penetrating sealers that provide an enhanced, “wet look” without creating a cheap-looking plastic film on the surface. The finish is a rich, matte or satin sheen.

While proper sealing is the best defense, efflorescence can be a sign of a deeper moisture issue below the stones. Our sealer creates a powerful barrier to minimize water penetration, which is the primary cause of the problem.

Once professionally sealed, bluestone is much easier to maintain. Simple sweeping and occasional washing with a pH-neutral cleaner is all that’s typically required.
